Sustainability

Sustainable and ethical coffee production

The importance of sustainable and ethical coffee production cannot be overstated. It involves not only the cultivation of coffee beans in a way that protects the environment but also ensuring fair treatment and compensation for the farmers who grow them. By prioritizing sustainable practices, we can help preserve biodiversity, reduce carbon footprints, and support local communities. Ethical coffee production also means transparency in sourcing, allowing consumers to make informed choices that align with their values. Together, these practices contribute to a healthier planet and a more equitable coffee industry.

Our Story

Great Coffee Since 1978

Hawkins Coffee was established in 1978 by Richard Hawkins who started roasting coffee in Kingsbridge in the South of Devon. He was driven by a determination to get the best taste out of the best coffee beans. We took over the business in April 2001 and with the same determination and obsession with quality which has enabled us to grow the business from 5 tonnes to 45 tonnes of roasted coffee per year by the end of 2007.
