Description

Flying Scotsman is the darkest, boldest coffee in our range. Strength 5 out of 5.

South American Arabica, roasted longer and darker than anything else we sell. Plenty of body, plain chocolate, a touch of cocoa and burnt caramel, the kind of finish you would call roasted. No brightness, no fruit notes. Just strong coffee that does what it says.

Most of our cafe customers carry it as a second blend for customers who want a stronger cup. At home it works as espresso, in a moka pot, or in a cafetiere if you want a proper hit of dark coffee first thing.

Whole bean or ground. 250g or 1kg, with free UK delivery.

Brew Bold, Brew Right

Flying Scotsman shines as an espresso, delivering a rich, full-bodied shot with ease. It also works well through a cafetière or drip filter if you prefer a longer brew. For milk-based drinks, use fresh, well-textured milk to keep the coffee’s bold character front and centre.

Our Story

Great Coffee Since 1978

Hawkins Coffee was established in 1978 by Richard Hawkins who started roasting coffee in Kingsbridge in the South of Devon. He was driven by a determination to get the best taste out of the best coffee beans. We took over the business in April 2001 and with the same determination and obsession with quality which has enabled us to grow the business from 5 tonnes to 45 tonnes of roasted coffee per year by the end of 2007.
