Description

Single origin Kenya Peaberry from the Nyeri region. Peaberry refers to the bean shape, a round single bean rather than the usual flat pair, which tends to produce a more concentrated cup. Medium roast, medium strength.

This one is lively. Blackcurrant, cherry, a bit of chocolate, plenty of acidity. Best as filter or pour over where the brightness shows up clearly. Works as espresso too but it will be a sharper, fruitier shot than a blend.

For anyone who wants Kenyan character a bit more intense than the AA.

Whole bean or ground. 250g or 1kg, with free UK delivery.

A lively yet approachable cup

Bright, Balanced, and Smooth

This coffee offers clear flavours of blackcurrant, cherry, and a touch of chocolate, creating a balanced and easy-drinking profile. It’s bright without sharp acidity, making it a reliable choice whether you enjoy it black or with milk.

Bright, Balanced, and Smooth

Versatile for espresso or filter

Brew Bright, Brew Balanced

Kenya Peaberry works well with both espresso and filter methods. For espresso, aim for a fine grind and a steady 25-30 second extraction to highlight its lively fruit notes. If you prefer filter brewing, use a medium grind and clean water to bring out the coffee’s clarity and balance.

Our Story

Great Coffee Since 1978

Hawkins Coffee was established in 1978 by Richard Hawkins who started roasting coffee in Kingsbridge in the South of Devon. He was driven by a determination to get the best taste out of the best coffee beans. We took over the business in April 2001 and with the same determination and obsession with quality which has enabled us to grow the business from 5 tonnes to 45 tonnes of roasted coffee per year by the end of 2007.
